In the British town of Kent, local police gave up on the use of a computer software intended to predict where and when crimes would occur. Kent Police were the first to introduce the solution to the UK, back in 2013. Kent Police Federation chairman Chris Carter said the software was useful for "proactive" policing, but said "officers have got less time to use it" due to increasing crime and decreasing resources. Local police said that the software allowed officers to identify public spaces that would benefit from patrols.
