The office of the public prosecutor in the Netherlands on July 5 demanded in absentia 6 years in prison for four Dutch men (23, 26, 28 and 29 years old) who are, according to the latest intelligence of the prosecution, currently in Syria or Iraq. The men left the Netherlands between 2012 and 2014 and are suspected of involvement in a terrorist organization and acts in preparation or to promote terrorism. The evidence against them exists through phone records, photos and videos (from social media) and witness testimonies. They are not being assisted by a lawyer.
