The Vatican attempted to paralyze the release in Italy of the gay-themed movie "Weekend" by banning it from cinemas. After the Italian Bishop's Conference Film Evaluation Commission classified it as "not advised, unusable and scabrous," the movie was restricted to only 10 screens.
