The support from Victim Support Netherlands to victims of frequently occurring crimes has more than doubled in 2014 compared to 2013, according to the annual report of this organization. It concerns simple cases such as theft, assault and acts of vandalism that are settled by the Public Prosecution Department without intervention from a judge. Victim Support Netherlands contacts the victims and informs them of their rights. They are offered practical, legal and psychosocial support and the public prosecutor is advised on the further course of action in their cases.
