The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights presented an opinion on the subject of a draft bill prepared by the civic committee "Stop Abortion." In the statement, HFHR emphasized that the total prohibition of induced abortion would mean a systemic violation of women’s dignity and basic human rights, and it would expose women to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment. Proposed changes to the criminal code are an unacceptable interference into the private lives of women and create a barrier for a woman to use her right to protection of health.
