The Hungarian Civil Liberties Union has turned to the Hungarian Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg in the case of six journalists who have been banned from entry into the Hungarian Parliament. The journalists were interviewing MPs in a part of the Parliament building where it is forbidden to do so by the president of the Parliament. HCLU has been offering free legal aid to the journalists, claiming that banning them represents an unconstitutional restriction of the freedom of the press, as the duty of the press is to inform citizens on public events.
