The Bulgarian government has approved a legislative reform that will allow the burial of stillborn babies. The amendments were adopted in response to the protests by parents and non-governmental organizations, including Poppies for Mary and the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee. Protesters wanted a legislative framework to ensure that stillborn babies are treated as humans and not as biological waste.
