On 11 November, after a protest against the "Pillon bill", a law reform on separation, divorce and shared custody of minors, homophobic and fascist banners appeared outside the Mario Mieli gay cultural association in Rome. This episode could be linked to government measures, which seem to be increasing inequality and inciting hatred and racism, thus fuelling a climate of violence. The response from the municipality of Rome and other politicians, who expressed their solidarity after another episode of discrimination, was immediate.
