For thousands of refugees, mainly from Africa, the volunteer-ran Baobab Center in Rome was the first stop to find some rest and protection. Although most of them stay only a few days before continuing their journey to northern parts of Europe, this center was a vital aid for asylum seekers. Yet despite this, the "Baobab Experience" has been dismantled for the 18th time, leading to the destruction of the camp, migrants’ personal effects and official documents. But the volunteers will not stop trying to welcome migrants and indeed immediately re-occupied the place.
