The October 19 strike organized by the General Federation of Labor of Belgium, which resulted in two deaths during the blockading of highways, revives the debate on the right to strike and the lack of a legal responsibility of unions. The Belgian prime minister and his party say that the right to strike ends where the right to work starts. Specifically, the party proposed a new law on the right to work, claiming that they want to discuss it with relevant groups. The League of Human Rights is concerned by limiting the right to strike and the attempted criminalization of this right.
