About 10,000 reports of discrimination were reported to police and anti-discrimination institutions last year. This is a decrease of four and eleven percent, respectively, compared to 2014. The Netherlands Institute for Human Rights received 422 requests to deliver judgment on occurrences that could potentially be discriminatory, which is also fewer than in 2014. However, the number of reports to the hotlines for discrimination on the internet grew by almost 7 percent (to 1,585 reports). Similarly to 2014, more than half of the discrimination reports were about origin.
