There is a new president of the Justice Commission of the Italian Senate. Nico D'Ascola, a criminal lawyer and professor, was elected with the New Centre-Right party. Antigone's president, Patrizio Gonnella, has asked him to relinquish his position within his party - which strongly opposes torture criminalization - and rather honor his academic and professional career by pushing forward the law on torture. Join Antigone in asking Italy to criminalize torture now by signing our Liberties petition!
