Fifteen manned police posts outside various Jewish institutions in Amsterdam are being removed and replaced by an advanced camera system and a special team of 31 agents to monitor Jewish institutions. According to police commissioner Gerald Oud Ammerveld, the new system will lead to a smarter method of monitoring. The images are recorded 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so they can also review images if necessary. The city decided to provide extra security after an attack on the Jewish Museum in Brussels in 2014.
