The European Court of Human Rights in February rejected Poland’s appeal against a ruling that it violated human rights by participating in the CIA's torture program. The July ruling found the country responsible for human rights violations against two terror suspects tortured at a facility in Poland. With the appeal rejected, this judgment is final and binding. "Now the judgment must be enforced by the Polish government," says Dr. Adam Bodnar, deputy president of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. "This includes bringing the inquiry into alleged CIA prisons in Poland to an end."
