Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik returns to court this week as the government appeals a ruling that his isolation in prison breaches the European Convention on Human Rights. Breivik, who killed 77 people in a bombing and shooting rampage in 2011, convinced the Oslo District Court in April that his incarceration was inhuman because of his solitary confinement and frequent searches. But the government is appealing that ruling to the court in Strasbourg, arguing that Breivik is humanely held in isolation in a three-cell complex where he can play video games, watch TV and exercise.
