The European Network Against Racism invited the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and the Police Commissioner General to officially apologize to the Lithuanian Muslim community. During a traditional Iftar dinner organized by the Lithuanian Muslim community on July 12, police officers decided to check the identity documents of all participants. The network decried such actions as racial profiling. According to the New Religions Research and Information Centre, Muslims and Jehovah's Witnesses are the most discriminated against religious groups in Lithuania.
