The newly appointed Lithuanian minister of health, Juras Požela, has promised to deal with the lack of regulation concerning gender reassignment. "We have to find a solution. It is a human rights issue. We must not shy away from decisions that are necessary. We are part of the European Community and must respect all people," he claimed, further promising to initiate the discussion on the Law on Reproductive Health in Parliament.
