According to a report by the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, military equipment worth 553 million euros was exported in 2015, a whopping 29 percent more than 2014. According to the data, the materiel is most often sold to repressive regimes, which then use it against their critics and civilians. The most problematic countries include Egypt and Saudi Arabia, where there is often no control over the armed forces or an independent judiciary or the police. From a human rights perspective, these arms sales raise objective doubts about the quality of risk assessment.
