More than 1,500 migrants have been saved from the Mediterranean Sea in the last two weeks by the Migrant Offshore Aid Station, the migrant rescue operation privately funded by the Catracombe family. The migrants are currently under the care of the Italian government's Mare Nostrum ("Our Sea" in Latin) rescue program. Most of the rescued are Palestinians or Eritreans.
