The number of failed asylum seekers leaving the Netherlands should increase, says State Secretary for Security and Justice Klaas Dijkhoff. It is known for less than 50 percent of rejected asylum seekers whether they have left the Netherlands, either voluntarily or involuntarily. Employees of the DTV, responsible for assisting this process, should - among other things - use stricter interviewing techniques in order to motivate illegal migrants to leave the Netherlands. Migrants leaving voluntarily can receive up to 1,750 euros, in addition to an airplane ticket, to support their reintegration.
