On Thursday members of the European Parliament passed with a large majority a legally non-binding text which stated that MEPs regretted "the fact that women continue to be underrepresented in executive positions in the field of banking and financial services". MEPs agreed in the future they will no longer accept nominations for high-level EU jobs unless the shortlists contain at least one woman and one man. The EPs stand for women was only weakened at the same time by the approval of the nomination of three candidates - all men - to top posts in three economic EU institutions.
