On behalf of the Dutch Parliament, the president of the Senate, Ankie Broekers-Knol, and the president of the House of Representatives, Anouchka van Miltenburg, have laid a wreath on the Roll of Honour of the Fallen in The Hague on May 4 - Remembrance of the Dead. The names of the soldiers and resistance fighters who fell for the Kingdom of the Netherlands during World War II are written on this monument. In 98 percent of all Dutch municipalities, a remembrance service was held and hundreds of trains came to a standstill at eight o'clock in the evening for the annual two minutes of silence.
