In one of Milan's high schools, a substitute teacher expressed his hatred of civil unions during class, using harsh and offensive language about homosexuals, according to students present. This serious incident had such an impact on the students that they wrote a letter to the headmaster, and an investigation into the teacher's behavior has now been opened. In Italy, it is really important to introduce diversity lessons in schools concerning LGBTI issues, and diversity trainings have to be compulsory not just for students, but for teachers as well.
