The Italian Parliament has finally started working on a law on whistleblowing, with the Commissions on Justice and Work currently busy preparing the draft text to be voted by the Chambers of Deputies and Senators by the end of November. Transparency Italia has issued an appeal to parliamentarians warning against recent amendments that would render the law meaningless: to be effective, the new norms must indeed be specific and exhaustive; confidentiality and anonymity must be protected and concrete assistance to whistleblowers must be provided (also through the creation of a specific fund).
