As we look around Europe and elsewhere, populist governments are abusing their powers more and more with each passing day — and fewer and fewer people believe that they can do anything about it.

When politicians and others in high positions abuse their power, who can hold them to account? A mere 14 percent of Hungarians believe an average person can do something about abuses of power.
