In a democracy, power is supposed to ultimately rest with the people. But is this actually the case today? More and more, it seems that the game is rigged, and there's no referee to step in and enforce the rules.

As we look around Europe and elsewhere, populist governments are abusing their powers more and more with each passing day — and fewer and fewer people believe that they can do anything about it.

When politicians and others in high positions abuse their power, who can hold them to account? A mere 14 percent of Hungarians believe an average person can do something about abuses of power.
