The Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy Bill was approved by the Irish Senate on Thursday after the people of Ireland voted to overturn the country's abortion ban in a referendum in May 2018. The law allows for abortion services to be provided "on demand" up to the 12th week of a pregnancy, in the case of a fatal foetal abnormality or where the physical or mental health of the mother is in danger. The legislation is now waiting to be approved by Ireland's president.
