The introduction of the new Intelligence and Security Act has been postponed until May 1, 2018, when the referendum on the act will be complete. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, appointing a new review committee takes longer than previously expected. The new law, which was planned to come into effect on January 1, allows intelligence services AIVD and MIVD to intercept large amounts of data, which opponents say will compromise the privacy of citizens.
