Migrants - including unaccompanied minors - that cross the border near Ventimiglia continue to fall victim to abuses, detention and refoulement by the French police. This is what Oxfam, Diaconia Valdese and Asgi, who work in Ventimiglia to provide relief to vulnerable migrants, say in their report ‘If this is Europe’. Based on the experiences lived by the many migrants that flee war and persecution and try to cross the Italian-French border, the report analyses how France is breaching national and European law with its practices and calls on France, Italy and EU to end this situation.
