Freedoms are increasingly under pressure worldwide - more than we've seen before in the whole past generation, said Kenneth Roth, the president of Human Rights Watch. "Europe is in panic and has scapegoated refugees," Roth states. He calls the approach to the refugee crisis a dangerous chaos. Within this context, he thinks Europe is fooling itself after the Paris attacks by focusing on the presumed threat coming from refugees. Human Rights Watch puts the blame on the social exclusion of migrants who've been in Europe much longer.
