The executive director of UN Women, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, visited Germany in the middle of June. She welcomed Germany’s commitment to women’s rights and praised the introduction of a women’s quota for leadership positions as an important step. She said the commitment to women’s rights was astonishing but added that most countries fail to invest in their implementation.
