The Dutch government has suspended negotiations with the US about pre-departure border and customs controls at Schiphol Airport. The plan would save travelers time, because the customs controls could be carried out in the Netherlands. After President Trump recently instituted a travel ban for refugees and citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries, GroenLinks (Greens) leader Jesse Klaver called for a suspension of the negotiations. Minister of Foreign Affairs Bert Koenders said that "in light of the current situation, it is obvious the cabinet has suspended the negotiations."
