A report commissioned by the Belgian Privacy Commission argues that Facebook's privacy policy violates European law, even despite recent updates to it. The report, conducted by the Center of Interdisciplinary Law and ICT at the University of Leuven in Belgium, determined that January updates made to the privacy policy only expanded old practices, and that it still violates European consumer protection law. According to the report, Facebook "fails to offer adequate control mechanisms" with regard to the use of user-generated content for commercial purposes.
