The Council of Europe’s commissioner for human rights, Nils Muižnieks, delivered on Tuesday an urgent warning for the EU to get serious in its fight against antisemitism. The commissioner's statement stressed the importance of remembering the Holocaust in order to prevent similar atrocities from ever again occurring in Europe. "Europeans ignore the evidence of rising antisemitic hate speech, violence and Holocaust denial at their peril. The hate that begins with Jews never ends with Jews. Antisemitism is a threat to our European continent built on freedom and the rule of law," said Muižnieks.
