The Uncertain Future of the European Court of Human Rights

The European Court of Human Rights has undergone a series of reforms throughout the last couple of years.

by Polish Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights

In spite of the Brighton Declaration of 2012 and two addendum protocols to the Convention (Protocols 15 and 16), the member states continue to discuss the future of the Court.

In the beginning of April 2014, a conference on the future of the Court took place. The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights has kept track of the reforms, providing commentaries on proposals to reform the Court.
