The Netherlands Committee of Jurists for Human Rights (NJCM) congratulates Jolien Schukking – a member of the NJCM since 1997 – for her appointment as the Dutch judge on the European Court of Human Rights. Jolien Schukking is also a member of the College of Recommendation of the NJCM and an editor for the Dutch Journal for Human Rights. The NJCM believes that the European protection of human rights is in good hands with her. The Plenary Session of the Council of Europe elected Schukking on January 24, 2017, with a convincing 104 out of 179 votes.
