The Dutch Data Protection Authority (CBP) has sent a letter to 41 Dutch municipalities with the request to provide additional information about the processing of personal data within all sectors that relate to the social side of municipal policies (education, healthcare, integration, etc.). Among other things, the CBP examines the extent to which municipalities are transparant towards citizens with regard to the processing of their data and tries to establish how municipalities deal with requests for authorization for the processing of such data.
