In an appeal case, the court of The Hague has decided that the Dutch supplier of mustard gas to Saddam Hussein will have to pay damages to a number of Iraqi and Iranian citizens. In 1987 and 1988, these citizens became victims of mustard gas attacks by the Hussein regime. According to the court, the man is guilty of supplying this regime with TDG, an important raw material for the production of mustard gas, while he know what it would be used for. The businessman had already been convicted to 16.5 years in prison in the court of appeal.
