The Belgian League of Human Rights (LDH) and three other complainants have lodged an appeal against Belgium's new school regulations, which, according to them, violate the right to education. As part of these new regulations, children in nursery and primary schools who arrive late at school for the fourth time in a year will be suspended from school for half a day. Besides questioning the lawfulness of such regulations, the LDH believes children should not be penalized for actions that their parents are responsible for.
