An ophthalmologist has been found guilty of violating a patient's rights after canceling the appointment of a blind person because she wanted to arrive with an assistance dog. The doctor told her that the appointment was cancelled because he wasn't sure he was able to provide medical services to persons with assistance dogs. The Polish commissioner for human rights, joined by the HFHR, brought legal action against the doctor, and the District Court of Cracow has now ruled that the cancellation, done only because the assistance dog, constituted a patients' rights violation.
