Around 300 deminers from all over Croatia gathered at Ban Jelačić Square in Zagreb in order to warn about alarming working conditions. The protest was organized because many deminers have lost their jobs, and those who are still working are doing this job at unrealistically low wages, which is a result of bad legal decisions that led to the collapse of this activity. In addition, uncertainty, fear of job loss and mental burden for deminers have led to an increase in mine incidents.
