The Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled that patients can sue for illnesses they believe were caused by needle jabs, even when there is no scientific evidence. The ruling is said to pose a serious risk to the vaccination programs in EU countries by potentially opening the floodgates to spurious lawsuits, and health experts in the UK say the ruling is a "serious concern." The Court of Justice said that a number of healthy people developing a disease shortly after receiving a vaccine would constitute enough proof to bring a claim.
