Some 160.000 children in the last grades of primary school went door to door over the past week and a half, selling as many postage stamps as possible. The Children's Stamp Fundraiser collected €9,7 million in total – €400.000 more than last year. The Children's Stamps Association is very happy with the donated amount. "It was our goal to provide 400.000 children with a good home, for instance because they would not have to go to work in a third-world country or stay in a homeless or women's shelter in the Netherlands. This donation will meet that goal easily."
