The Bulgarian Parliament is about to vote on a national "ban on the wearing of the burqa," as the media called the law. The law states that clothing hiding the face may not be worn in public spaces and will affect Bulgarians, those temporarily residing in the country or migrants. The bill, which was tabled by the nationalist Patriotic Front (PF), was backed by 108 MPs, with just eight voting against it during the first reading.
