Bulgaria has become the latest EU country to say that it will not sign the global migration agreement in Morocco in December, after Hungary, Austria, Poland, Czechia and Croatia also said they would not sign. In July, the UN Global Compact for Migration was approved by all 193 UN members, except the US, which backed out last year. The pact is a non-binding agreement that aims to strengthen international cooperation on migration and address issues such as the protection and integration of migrants. The US, Hungary and Austria complained that the pact represents a threat to their sovereignty.
