Bulgaria's Parliament has approved a nationwide law banning the wearing of face-covering veils from most public places. The legislation was pushed by the nationalist Patriotic Front coalition. Under the new law, the wearing of solid or translucent clothing, cloaks, fishnets, masks or other similar items that conceal entirely or partially the face will be banned. People who do not follow the ban face fines of up to 200 Bulgarian leva (100 euros) for the first offense and 1,500 leva for each additional offense.
