Giovanni Kessler, the EU's anti-fraud boss, said his office has been "flooded" by allegations related to the EU Parliament.

The head of the EU's anti-fraud office said on Wednesday, May 31, that there were "too many" allegations of misconduct being made against the European Parliament. Giovanni Kessler suggested that is was time for Parliament to consider improving its internal rules, saying there may well be a "structural problem" behind the issue. He said his office, commonly known as OLAF, has been "flooded" with allegations in recent months, and 47 investigations that dealt with staff or officials of all EU institutions were ongoing by the end of April.
