According to the new Eurostat data, the youth unemployment rate in Croatia (15 - 24 years) fell only from 45.5 percent in 2014 to 44.6 percent in 2015, which is basically a shift at the level of statistical error.

"The data indicates that additional training does not result in better youth employment. The insufficient number of jobs remains the main cause of the high youth unemployment. These data should encourage the government to think about a new direction of employment policies management, in particular for young people," said Charles Kralj, president of the Croatian Youth Network (MMH).

The number of users of government vocational training programs proves that young people want to work and that an obstacle is not their lack of experience, but rather a lack of jobs.

In its statement, MMH asks the government to create new policies and solutions that will truly have a positive impact on the youth employment rate. This should be done in cooperation with young people and social partners.
