The NJCM is against a burqa ban and has advised the Dutch Senate, which is currently processing the bill, to vote against it. The bill promotes the stigmatization and discrimination of certain societal groups in general and Muslim women in particular. It paves the way for further exclusion of people who give a different meaning to their lives. The freedom of religion and the right to respect for private and family life are disproportionally restricted, according to the NJCM.
