You know the picture. Italian photographer Massimo Sestini took it while hanging out from an helicopter and ultimately ended up winning a World Press Photo Award for it: it depicts a boat overcrowded with refugees crossing the Mediterranean, and it resonated worldwide. Sestini has already further developed this line of work with a photographic documentary on rescues at sea - realized together with LasciateCIEntrare - and he is now working to put together the story of every single person that was on that boat. Because behind that one single picture there are 500 stories waiting to be told.
