Budapest-based Central European University has ended its programs for registered refugees and asylum seekers, as well as an EU-funded migration policy research grant that it administered. The closures come in response to the Hungarian government's decision to impose a 25% tax on any activity that assists immigration. The tax on organizations affects "all programs, actions and activities which directly or indirectly aim to promote immigration," including media campaigns and educational activities "showing immigration in a positive light."
